Many businesses have workers that are required to work outside their office – e.g., field technicians and business consultants. Mobile workers are constantly at their clients’ premises. Because they are often on the road, they may have limitations to accessing the contact data of their customers, clients, or colleagues. Normally, the Global Address List of a company can only be accessed on mobile devices via Microsoft ActiveSync and LDAP, which requires an Internet connection. However, with PeopleSync, the Global Address List can be accessed on their mobile devices even when there are no Internet connections, which is often the case. PeopleSync synchronizes the enterprise Global Address List to the user’s mobile devices via the CardDAV standard, and therefore does not require Internet access to be functional.
PeopleSync is able to synchronize data from enterprise sources, such as:
- Exchange Server
- SharePoint Server
- Office 365
- CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce and Microsoft CRM)
It is also compatible with major mobile device platforms, such as Apple iOS (iPhones and iPads), Google Android phones and tablets (e.g., Samsung Galaxy), Microsoft Windows phones, and Blackberry OS 10 phones.
